Culinary Gingerbread House Contest
In the month of October the Advanced Studies Class in culinary participated in a Gingerbread House Contest. The PBL consisted of forming groups of 3-5 people, deciding on a structure, watching a demonstration on making, rolling, cutting, baking and assembling a structure with royal icing. The annual FEA (Future Educators’ Association) fun run/walk was held on campus on Saturday, November 8th. This annual fundraiser invites teachers, parents, and students from across the district to participate in a 5K run or walk.

Northwest Career and Technical Academy partners with ‘We R Community’
Northwest Career and Technical Academy physics honors students have been engaged in a community partnership with “We R Community” since the start of the 2013-2014 school year. These select students have been volunteering to make a difference in their community. Since the start of the program, We R Community and their partner Nevada Energy have granted $5,000 awards to student groups to use toward their project. Click here to read more.

Northwest Career and Technical Academy is in its seventh year of operation with students in grades 9, 10, 11, and 12. Northwest Career and Technical Academy is located in a fast growing community of homes and businesses in the northwest area of Las Vegas, Nevada. It is a magnet school that serves a diverse student body. The student population is over 1900 and has a student/teacher ratio of 28/1. The school population primarily draws from northwest Las Vegas, Nevada, as well as other areas of Clark County.
